In a move hailed as historic and transformative, Mosra Energy Limited, in partnership with Omala Local Government Area, launched a groundbreaking ₦30 million empowerment programme on Sunday, July 27, 2025, aimed at market women, youths, and farmers in the Oti communities of Kogi State. The colourful event, held in the light showers of blessing in Oti 3 Community, brought together dignitaries, traditional rulers, community members, and hopeful beneficiaries, all united by a vision of shared prosperity.

“This initiative is more than an act of corporate social responsibility,” declared Mr. Olukayode Ramos, Chairman/CEO of Mosra Energy Limited, in his warm welcome address. “It is a testament to our unwavering commitment to transform the economic landscape of our host communities by creating greater opportunities, building capacity, and fostering entrepreneurship.”, he added.

With passion and pride, the MD detailed Mosra’s ongoing efforts: from registering ten new local mining cooperatives to constructing critical infrastructure like roads and boreholes, offering scholarships, and investing directly in livelihoods. “The Oti communities, it is your turn to start receiving daily alerts from Mosra,” he quipped, drawing cheers from the audience.

Highlighting Mosra’s alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the MD noted that over 5,000 members of previously registered cooperatives have already benefited, receiving over ₦6.7 billion from Mosra’s mining partnership projects. The Oti communities are next in line to experience similar growth and wealth creation, he assured.

Infrastructure and empowerment plans unveiled included: Construction of two boreholes for potable water, a new 13 km road from Ikeffi to Oti 3, and a 6 km road linking Oti 3 to the TRCM facility, repair of damaged culverts, renovation of a local dispensary, and provision of essential drugs, scholarships and special empowerment programmes for local youths and women.

In his heartfelt speech, the Executive Chairman of Omala LGA, Hon. Edibo Ameh Mark, praised Mosra Energy’s vision and consistency. “This is a milestone in our local development story,” Hon. Mark affirmed. “The economic lifeline Mosra Energy offers today aligns with our dream to build resilient communities where no youth, woman, or farmer is left behind. We will keep partnering for progress.”, the LG chairman averred.

Hon. Mark’s gratitude was echoed in his appreciation of Governor Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo’s support, and the Federal Government’s focus on the mining sector, which has opened new doors for rural communities like Oti.

For the people gathered, the programme was more than figures and speeches; it represented a rebirth of hope, as one of the beneficiaries said: “With this support, I plan to expand my yam and cashew business. It means better food and school fees for my children. May God bless Mosra.”

While another smiling widely said: “Before today, I never thought mining could help people like us directly. Now, I believe our lives can change too.”

In his closing, the MD emphasized Mosra Energy’s promise of responsible mining practices, environmental protection, and community-first development. “Together, we can achieve great things and ensure a prosperous future for all,” he concluded, his voice steady and hopeful.

As dignitaries departed, the sense of optimism was unmistakable. For market women, youths, and farmers gathered, the empowerment programme is not just a cheque – it is an invitation to renew hope, rebuild dreams, and redefine tomorrow.
